How did you first get into coaching? What has been the driver that has kept you in coaching?

One of my assistant coaches from when I was playing in college got a head coaching job at the junior college level and hired me. The driver that has kept me in coaching has been the relationships and the ability to influence, motivate, and inspire others. The direct line that I get to build with each individual is so special to me. Having the ability to give back and help others is what this is all about. The game of basketball has been incredibly good to me and I'm blessed to be able to give back through the game of basketball.

Who has been the biggest influence in your coaching career? Why?

Coach Mike Nicksic. He was my high school basketball coach from grades 9-11. He taught me discipline, attention to detail, and life at a really high and consistent level. He has continued to stay in my life all these years later and always challenges me to be my best in all areas of life. Someone that has always wanted the best out of me and wanted to help me achieve it.

What has been your greatest lesson learned in coaching so far?

The harder you work and the more you put in, the more you get out. It may not be as quick as you want it to happen but hard work pays off and is the answer.

What has been your most memorable win?

My first win as a D1 head coach. It was January 15th, 2022. We beat our rival Idaho at home.

What is your favorite team meal?

Teriyaki chicken and rice with vegetables.

Fun Fact: Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know about you.

I played a season professionally in 2010 in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
