Oliver Reid was recently named the Championship Men's Head Coach for the Camberwell Dragons in Melbourne, Australia. He is also the Director of Development with the Ivanhoe Knights Basketball Club. Read more about Coach Reid below!
  
 
 
How did you first get into coaching? What has been the driver that has kept you in coaching?
Finished playing and wanted to stay in the game at an elite level. Seeing and impacting the journey of others in the game.
 
Who has been your biggest influence in your coaching career? Why?
Brian Goorjian, Darren Perry (national team coaches), and Ross Clark; my old high school coach.
 
What has been your greatest lesson learned in coaching so far?
Culture is made with values and built with behaviors.
 
What has been your most memorable win?
17-0 Season with RMIT and promotion into Division 1!
 
What is your favorite team meal?
Pizza at our local place.
 
Tell us a recent book/podcast/movie that has left you inspired as a coach.

Fun Fact: Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know about you.
Before I was in coaching I wanted to be a journalist and a writer, and did some internships while living in England.
 
As a member, what has been the most rewarding aspect/ favorite memory  of Rising Coaches for you?
Mentorship with great coaches and meeting people online that I hope to meet in person when I travel to the USA in November.
