Brian Burton Named President of Basketball Operations for Rising Coaches

 
April 27, 2023 - Rising Coaches, an organization dedicated to empowering and supporting basketball coaches at all levels, is excited to announce the appointment of Brian Burton as their new President of Basketball Operations. Burton, who has spent almost 20 years as a college basketball coach, is currently a college basketball analyst for ESPN and is the founder and CEO of Uprise Athletics Group and All-Access Network. He has been working closely with Rising Coaches over the last three years, hosting shows and events, investing in the our community, and also helping start the Rising Coaches DEI-Alliance where he has served as our Vice President for Men’s Basketball.

"Rising Coaches has been an invaluable part of my transition from my college coaching career in many ways and I’m grateful for the role they play in the industry. I am excited to help build onto the great things they have done over the last 13 years and continue to be a positive light in the game."
 
Adam Gordon, CO-founder of Rising Coaches, expressed his excitement about the appointment of Burton. "We are thrilled to have Brian as our new President of Basketball Operations.
Brian has had a tremendous impact on Rising Coaches over the last three years with his various contributions, his endless investment in the basketball community, and helping us create & effectively run the Rising Coaches DEI-Alliance serving as Vice President. His commitment to improving the coaching industry is extremely evident. We’re thankful for the impact he’s making on the game and his heart to serve. Brian will be a tremendous asset to our members. We are fortunate to have him!”
 
Burton made the transition from College Coaching in 2020 after almost 2 decades of coaching at the D1, D2, and junior college levels. His D1 coaching stops include University of Utah, Fresno State, UTEP, Lamar, IUPUI, and Abilene Christian. He also played College Basketball at D2 & D3 levels at both St. Edwards University, and UT Dallas, in Texas. At UT Dallas, Burton was a 2 year starter and Captain while leading the team in several statistical categories including assists & minutes played. His senior year he helped led the Comets to their 1st Championship and winning season program in history.
 
Brian graduated from Plano East Senior High in Plano, TX. He and his wife, Natalie, have 3 daughters and currently live in Loveland, Colorado.
 
In his new position, Burton will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization and continue to provide support and resources to coaches at all levels.
 
Burton says, “The vision is simple.
1. Continue to create an authentic basketball community where everyone is welcome and everyone can connect, develop, & elevate.
2. To support, celebrate, and provide great benefit to our members.
3. To be a light in Men’s & Women’s basketball at all levels through Rising Coaches platforms, events, and community.”
