Birmingham, AL. Rising Coaches has produced the first ever training resource for Graduate Assistant Coaches. The position of Graduate Assistant is arguably one of the most important on staff. GA's are asked to wear many hats and balance several different relationships all with little to no coaching experience under their belt.
"Coaching is unlike any other profession. They just throw you in the deep end with no training and expect you to figure it out," said Rising Coaches CEO Adam Gordon. "We've worked hard to create a curriculum that breaks down the necessary skills and knowledge needed for any GA at any program."
The course includes a diverse group of guest speakers from various levels of men's and women's basketball. GA Academy consists of over 25 lessons including
Player Development for GA's
Video Editing
Recruiting Material/Graphics and Photoshop
Staff & Player Relationships
Managing the Managers
Team Travel
and many others.
These lessons are designed to teach GA's how to be a star in their role and go above and beyond to add value to their programs. Each lesson ends with a short quiz to ensure retention of the core concepts being taught.
"Your culture is only as strong as your weakest link," said Adam Gordon. "GA Academy is a perfect way to invest in your coaching staff and your program."
